That benchmark is what the new Holan Nomada PRO Pannier system is designed to. This fifth generation product was tested to it's limits to ensure that it take whatever you throw at it - from a transcontinental journey, to a run down to the local Starbucks.
Features of these panniers include:
- Notched pannier on the exhaust side to mount closer to the motorcycle.
- Top loading design, dual-latch design for complete lid removal.
- Construction using 2MM thick Aluminum alloy that is both seam welded and riveted for maximum strength and ease of repair.
- Sealed rivets and double gasket sealed pannier lid to ensure your contents are dry and dust free.
- New Holan lock system includes with panniers - now even stronger and allows key removal while unlocked.
- Tapered corners to reduce air resistance, eliminate 'pannier parachuting', and decrease fuel consumption
- Four large luggage handles on the cover of the case to tie down extra gear on top of the pannier
- Accepts optional 2L or 3L fuel canister on 40L or larger case
- Accepts inexpensive Holan inner liners
- Mounts to world-class Holan Pannier mounts - Specially designed for this system and created in brand new Stainless Steel

Easy and fast to install. They look great on my Flame Red F650GS. I haven't been out on a trip yet, but they seem very sturdy, are easy to put on and take off, and are roomier than my old panniers. I looked at a bunch of different panniers before settling on these. I ultimately narrowed it down to the Jesse and Nomada Pro, and went with these because they were better priced, compatible with my BMW topcase, and (to my eyes, at least) look better on the F650GS. The rack fit perfectly onto the mounting points, and did not require and bending or tweaking. The stainless steel pannier mounts are very nicely welded and finished and look great on the bike -- much nicer than some other competing brands. The panniers mount onto the rack very securely, and go on and off in under a minute. Plus, the locking system seems pretty secure. I have not yet toured with these, but am very much looking forward to taking them on the road. I went with the 39L setup, which seems plenty big for all my gear without sticking out the side excessively. I left the lower Nomada decal on, but took the upper one off because I liked the naked aluminum look. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. (Posted on 2/23/12)Overall Rating
